BZ Auto Group: A Storied Past
In 1979, Burnworth-Zollars Auto Group commenced its journey with a modest team of five employees when Rick Zollars and his father-in-law, Bill Burnworth, acquired a Ford dealership from Wayne Reed in Kimmel, Indiana. Within a brief span of two years, they relocated the dealership from Kimmel to Ligonier, Indiana, catalyzing rapid expansion. The growth trajectory led to an extensive dealership spanning over 14,000 square feet, incorporating their own body shop.
With a commitment to the community's future, they further expanded the Ligonier dealership, establishing a new facility across their campus. This new facility encompassed 18 service bays, car wash amenities, lounges, a spacious showroom, a sales area, and an on-site body shop, symbolizing their burgeoning success.
By 1998, after 15 years of prosperous operation, the group ventured into new horizons by acquiring a local Chevrolet dealership, relocating it to the north side of U.S. 6, adjacent to the Ligonier campus. The expansion continued in 2005, with the addition of more facilities, including an extra showroom and body shop, scaling the Ligonier campus to a sprawling 34,000 square feet across seven acres.
In 2015, Rick Zollars made the strategic decision to sell the Burnworth-Zollars business to former sales managers Ken and Jason, with a primary condition - to uphold the established traditions, focusing on customer service and community engagement. Subsequently, in 2022, the company transitioned its name from Burnworth-Zollars to BZ Automotive Group LLC. Despite the name change, the core values of delivering exceptional customer service and active community involvement endure as fundamental pillars of their operation.
